Your Story

Emma, I am your mom. And this is for you.

One day you will read this, Emma. And so I am writing to you. For you.

(And, if we're lucky, for your siblings yet to come). I am ambitiously hopeful that you will turn to this blog often as an adult. I am so grateful that you will be raised in a time in history where you can do or be exactly who you want to be.

Perhaps you will scan posts looking for advise from a mothers perspective, as you mother your own babies. Or maybe you''ll just open it up because as I understand, 34 years in, we ALL love hearing stories from when we were little. When the time comes, I suspect that you may read from it when you miss me. When reading my words helps you to recall my voice. It's been 5 months since I lost my mom. You were 3 months old. I miss her so much and I would have liked to have something like this from your granny.

Some days we will discuss life lessons, learned the hard way. (First time parenting fails... did I tell you about the time you fell off the bed?!) Other days I might share a recipe for food that you enjoy. (Maybe you'll decide to make it for your babies.

I look forward to introducing you to who I was and who I am, as I explore motherhood and the first year as an expat woman, in The Middle East.

We're on a journey sweet girl. Let's laugh, cry and learn from one another.

If you're a parent/ an expat/a SAFFA/a friend/in The UAE or just would like to watch as we play and grow, we would love to have you with us.

Interact with us.

Tell me I'm not the only one losing my hair post partum, and my mind house-wifing.

We are into baby led living. We're not purists by any means. And we change our minds and our beliefs if and when it feels best for our family.

No judgement and no judging, please.(She really did fall off the bed :( )

Success! Message received.
